Dell has announced the new Latitude 7230 Rugged Extreme Tablet, which is a reliable and powerful tablet that’s equipped to be tough — something that’s clearly visible by the tablet’s rugged edges and thick bezels. According to Dell, this is the lightest and most powerful 12″ fully-rugged tablet on the market. The 7230 Rugged Extreme features 12th Gen Intel Core processors (up to an i7) and integrated Iris Xe graphics for outstanding performance on the road. It also has Wi-Fi 6E functionality and dual broadband compatibility, for higher speeds and lower energy usage.
The Latitude 7230 Rugged has a battery life of up to 20 hours, with two hot-swap batteries so you can keep it running for longer while you’re on the go. Going to the display, the tablet has a 16:10 aspect ratio display, providing, according to Dell, 13% more active screen space than previous generations. And it can also get bright, too — you should be able to see everything in direct sunlight with a brightness of up to 1200 nits. And you can even use it with gloves.
Dell allows buyers to customize the tablet to fit their needs, including a barcode scanner, HDMI port, and removable NVMe SSD. The company also said “it is drop-tested from up to four feet and temperature-tested from -20F to 145F to withstand the most strenuous circumstances.”
Basically, it’s all you could ever ask for in a rugged business tablet. We don’t know the pricing details, but Dell says we should know that as we get close to the final shipping date by the end of the year.
