The cheapest player is the Roku Express, which normally costs $30, but is now on sale for $20. It only supports 1080p output (no 4K and/or HDR), and the limited storage means it needs to re-download channels occasionally, but it does support nearly every streaming service out there. Roku advertises compatibility with Apple TV+, Disney+, Hulu, Netflix, Paramount+, ESPN, the company’s own Roku Channel, and others. Roku announced an updated Roku Express last month, but it won’t be available until October 13, and seemingly isn’t included in this sale.

The Roku Express 4K+ is also on sale for $25, down from the MSRP of $40 (though it’s $30 most of the time). Compared to the regular Express, it adds support for 4K and HDR, and the included remote has additional power and volume controls for your TV. That means you won’t have to juggle two remotes when using the Roku, except for changing settings like the current TV input.

Finally, the Roku Streaming Stick 4K is discounted from $50 to $30. This is almost identical to the Express 4K+, but has a more compact design (you don’t need to stick it to the back of your TV) and improved Wi-Fi performance. It’s our current top pick for the best overall streaming device.

Roku representatives told How-To-Geek that the sale will be live until October 15, as long as supplies last.
