Setup & Options

Once you install the extension and restart Firefox, you are ready to start enjoying that tab organizing goodness. If you want to go ahead and start using FlagTab then you can access the sub-menu using the “Right Click Menu” for the tab(s). Notice that you can choose the color that you would like to use for grouping tabs, clear an individual tab or all tabs at once, and access the options.

If you decide to have a look at the options first, then this is what you will see. Choose and/or modify the settings to best suit your personal preferences.

The drop down menu for the “Trigger Function”…

For our example we decided to set up a brighter color scheme and relabel the fourth option color.

FlagTab in Action

Here you can see that the open tabs from two websites are staying nicely color-coded based on their grouping…one parent tab and one child tab per color (nice!).

What if you decide to change one of the colors though? Not a problem…select the new color for the parent tab that you would like to use and then click on the child tab to focus it…

As soon as the child tab is focused, it will change to the new color of the parent tab.

Conclusion

If you like using colors to keep your tabs organized together into groups, then this is an extension worth taking a closer look at.
