Seagate has announced three more 2TB external hard drives in its FireCuda lineup, each with a different Star Wars design — one with Luke Skywalker, another with Darth Vader, and one more with Han Solo. Each drive has the name of the character along the bottom, as well as RGB lights. The Seagate Toolkit desktop application is used to change the light pattern and colors.
Seagate didn’t share much technical information about the drives, except that the cable connection uses USB 3.2 Gen 1. They’re presumably 5,200 RPM drives, which will be fine for document storage and backups, but less ideal for intensive tasks like video editing or gaming. Hard drives also generally aren’t as reliable as SSDs, especially after repeated drops, since SSDs don’t have any moving mechanical parts. Seagate promises a five-year limited warranty, at least.
The new hard drives are available today for $109.99 in the single 2TB capacity option. The company also sells other branded FireCuda drives, including ones based on Black Panther, Spider-Man, Halo, and God of War. There are also Star Wars drives with Grogu (better known as “baby Yoda”), the Mandalorian, and Boba Fett.
